Does it cost anything?
No. Joining Axolojet is free.
Do I need an IVAO account?
Yes. We fly on the IVAO network, with real controllers. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one for free at ivao.aero.
Which simulator do I need?
Whichever you have, as long as you can fly the aircraft in our fleet and connect to IVAO.
Can I fly on my own, outside the tours?
Yes. We have a flight program with fixed routes and flight numbers, for example XOL1001 from Guadalajara to Mexico City. You'll find it on the Routes page.
How do we identify ourselves on frequency?
Our IVAO call sign is XOL and on the radio we are "Ambystoma", the axolotl's scientific name. For example, XOL123 is spoken "Ambystoma one two three".
How do I log my flights?
With NewSky. Once you pass your check flight (or straight away, if you're already a Private Pilot or higher on IVAO) we sign you up there and your flights start counting with us.
What is the check flight like?
A Cessna 172 flight from Guadalajara (MMGL) to Puerto Vallarta (MMPR) and back. It lets us see how you fly before we welcome you aboard. If you already hold a Private Pilot (PP) rating or higher on IVAO, you don't need it: you join straight away.
